This integration scientist will be a key contributor within the Product Test Group working with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate on-going product development activities across Illumina platforms.ResponsibilitiesWork across multi-disciplinary teams to develop a comprehensive testing plan for user needsUse design validation protocols for test execution according to established product development processesAnalyze and interpret data from experimentation, document the results and make technical recommendationsHelp to establish best practices for V&V in compliance with Illumina quality management systemsResponsible for delivering design validation data and presenting results for stakeholder meetings and project reviewsBe both a strong individual contributor as well as a collaborative team memberBe a critical thinker with strong technical competence and willingness to be hands-onSkills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical engineering, or a related scientific field and 0-2 yeas of previous professional experienceIndustrial experience in Product Development a plusDemonstrated ability to understand and successfully work across multiple disciplines such as engineering, software, and customer interaction highly desiredExperience with customer solutions and tech support highly desired.Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audienceExperience writing and executing test plans to validate product performance and robustnessA broad scientific knowledge (instrumentation, optics, chemistry, molecular biology, software, etc.)Experience with next generation sequencing technologies and/or data analysis tools highly desired#LI-ONSITEThe estimated base salary range for the Scientist 1 - R&D Product Test role based in the United States of America is: $60,500 - $90,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
