Using our existing content and information enablement platforms and other technologies, you develop solutions that help our global team of sales reps, channel partners, and other customer-facing teams access the information they need to sell and support our portfolio of products. You also deliver insights to content for teams to realize the impact of content on the customer experience.You have a background in genomics with an aptitude to understand and leverage content and information management systems. You have a passion to lead and see leadership as a path to bring the best out in project and team members. You have the passion, aptitude, and skills to become the voice of sales, working as a liaison between sales and marketing to help build the tools and processes to effectively commercialize and manage products. You thrive on identifying inefficiencies and driven to addressing them quickly within a team environment.You’ll be joining a team that is chartered with building a world-class commercial enablement function at Illumina. This team is extremely collaborative, communicative, and passionate about building innovative, top-quality business systems and processes, making a big impact with our customers, and having fun along the way.Responsibilities:· Establish operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to project and team members· Frequently review KPIs and objectives to determine health and success of operations· Establish and assure adherence to timelines, work plans, and performance requirements· Liaise with global content users to gain a deep understanding of what information and tools they need· Lead the design of information libraries, taxonomy/metadata, and related applications to support usability, workflows, integrations, findability, and personalization· Build relationships with diverse stakeholders inside and outside Illumina such as product marketing and subject-matter-experts; build trust to elicit feedback and requirements, and persuade people to adopt new standards while maintaining positive working relationships· Partner with product and regional marketing to help plan the enablement strategy for product launches, providing insights from both content needs and understanding of Illumina’s solutions· Ensure that content enables users to position products and solutions effectively, discuss buyer needs intelligently, and answer objections for a range of market segments, geographies, customer types, and buyer roles· Build Toolkits that store key information and content for customer-facing teams· Lead specific content audits and curation and partner with other team members auditing and curating content activities· Use quantitative and qualitative data about sales performance, content usage, and sales satisfaction to improve your workSkills and Characteristics:We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated ability to:· Lead with solid tactical decision-making, handling unforeseen issues· Effectively prioritize and keep projects on track in the face of competing responsibilities, manage time well, document and communicate status, and communicate effectively with team members· Develop team members, celebrate successes, and address issues immediately where needed· Develop effective internal and external sales tools· Translate business needs into actionable results utilizing tools, technology, and available resources· Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences with varying levels of scientific/technical expertise through writing, conversation, and live or virtual presentations· Innovate ideas for new technology, features, processes, or standards that will address gaps or maximize opportunities· Learn new technologies, models, and processes of content and information management tools, and achieve competency and then expert level quickly· Create systems that drive compliance, standardization, and scalability while still flexing to user needs; the systems should be effective, easy to use, and easy to maintain and scalePreferred educational background:· Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in genetic or related science· Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in information systems, content management, business systemsPreferred experiential background:· Experience working with software development: gathering business and technical requirements, designing or developing software, analytics, or other tools, and working in a SAAS environment· At least 8 years of experience creating or organizing content, content repositories, and content systems· At least 8 years of experience thriving in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneouslyThe estimated base salary range for the Commercial Content Architect role based in the United States of America is: $124,300 - $186,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
