The Tableau Server Admin will be supporting and advising theTradeDesk on all aspects of Tableau Server, including installation, management, upgrades, performance tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting across multiple server environments. This position is intended for someone who is looking to partner closely with our Business Intelligence team and take ownership of the Tableau environments that they rely on. We have several improvement initiatives planned for this year, so we’re looking for a candidate who is excited to guide the further development of our Tableau environments as well as the processes that various teams follow when using Tableau. Your focus will be on driving the continued development and scaling of our Tableau Server environment as our team and their needs continue to grow. WHAT YOU WILL DO:Lead design and support resource for our rapidly growing Business Intelligence team, managing our Tableau architecture and infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Supporting and advising theTradeDesk on various aspects of Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Cloud. This may include installation, management, upgrades, performance tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting across multiple environments.Working closely with data engineering and Business Intelligence teams to tune both live and extracted data sources from Snowflake and embedded dashboards for optimum performance.Applying DevOps and CloudOps design, such as Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, custom tooling), application deployment pipelines (GitLab), and a variety of cloud based technologies in our cloud environment, AWS, supporting our Tableau deployment.Develop and document technical architecture, system designs, performance test results, and other technical aspects of Tableau implementationsProvide infrastructure and platform sizing for projects, including hardware and software requirementsProvision and manage Tableau infrastructure using cloud-based Infrastructure as Code toolingSupport Tableau platform administration including infrastructure builds and maintenance, performance testing, and maintained application availabilityGather requirements, implement, and support multi node server installationsWork with teams to monitor, tune and optimize performance (system and application)Create best practice guides and work with development teams to implement them.Assist users and developers when Tableau updates are available and help them in adapting to changesDesign and maintenance of the tableau server architecture (multiple environments)Develops, tests, and implements system changes, upgrades and patchesWHO YOU ARE: 3+ years of relevant experienceProven skill and experience: installing, managing, and troubleshooting Tableau Server/Desktop/Cloud integrations on public cloud services. Experience with the Tableau suite (Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, Tableau Prep, etc.)Familiarity with Windows and Linux server systemsPerformance engineering: Focus on performance tuning, testing, and capacity planning both within Tableau and using additional tools (Snowflake, Tabjolt, etc.)Conviction in what you recommend: comfort and ease in educating and guiding internal stakeholders.Client-Centric: Experience owning engagements and providing best practice advice. The base salary range for this role is $75,400 -$138,300In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions.
