We offer a challenging environment that fosters creativity and rewards excellence.The Cybersecurity Contentware Developer gathers Software Development skills with Cybersecurity Analysis skills to create a unique role that constitutes a key driver for the defense against email attacks. Your day to day • Member of a creative, enthusiastic, and geographically distributed team that is responsible for identifying, parameterizing, responding quickly and anticipate to spam attacks levied against most of the world's largest organizations.• Analyze the evolving email threat landscape to identify emerging threat tactics, techniques, procedures and IOCs.• Develop software that materializes threat intelligence into automated defenses throughout all detection engines• Execute queries against the vast historical information to hunt for correction opportunities and undiscovered attack patterns• Contribute to the creation of development plans by estimating complexity, dependencies and effort required to achieve the goals• Develop automation tools or components that replace highly repetitive activities performed by analysts and/or threat researchers• Continuous dialogue with detection engine developers to ensure the synergy between the content software along with the detection engine produce the expected efficacy over email attacks• Develop written communications describing the detection capabilities developed to educate customers• Contribute to the definition of the landscape, prevalence, and evolution of messaging abuse, threats, and attacks by participating in future requirements definition discussions of Proofpoint productsWhat you bring to the teamHands-on experience with programming languages, preferably Python, GoLang, or JavaExperience running and creating SQL queries in big data environments, preferably with AWS Athena, S3, SparkHands on experience with Regular ExpressionsExperience in Agile methodologies, especially scrumAnalytical and incremental delivery mindsetAbility to work independently yet fully integrate with worldwide, remote teams. Can-do attitude with a focus on problem solving, product quality, and a strong desire to get the job done.Additionally, any of the following would be a strong plus:Knowledge of different types of email borne attack vectors, tools and tactics In-depth knowledge of email borne threats: phishing, malware, BEC and spam. Ability to find and research suspicious patterns in URLs, domains, in conjunction with overall email structure (email headers and email context). General familiarity with how mail delivery works, knowledge of email security standards and protocols, such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, would be beneficial.Familiarity with Unix environments and comfort with a range of Unix command line tools for manipulating and extracting content from text filesFamiliarity and/or experience with LUA based detection signatures is a plusFamiliarity and/or experience with ClamAV based detection signatures is a plusBSCS or equivalent, or equivalent technical experience.
