The role of an IT Infrastructure Capacity Manager is pivotal within organizations, serving as the guardian of an efficient and responsive IT ecosystem. These professionals are responsible for meticulously planning, monitoring, and optimizing the utilization of critical IT resources, ensuring that the infrastructure can meet both current and future demands. By forecasting, assessing risks, and collaborating across IT teams, the IT Infrastructure Capacity Manager plays a vital role in maintaining a robust and resilient IT infrastructure that aligns with business objectives and industry standards.What you’ll be doing:Develop and maintain a capacity planning strategy while predicting future capacity requirements based on data and growth projections.Continuously monitor IT resource utilization and perform regular analyses to identify and address performance bottlenecks.Create and manage budgets for infrastructure and collaborate with vendors to ensure timely procurement of vital resources.Identify capacity-related risks and develop mitigation strategies while maintaining detailed documentation of processes and configurations.Generate regular capacity status reports for customers and assess the impact of changes on capacity and performance.Conduct load tests to evaluate system performance and actively optimize systems to improve resource utilization.Efficiently manage hosting environments and develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure capacity during emergencies.Ensure capacity management practices comply with industry regulations and standards, and collaborate with IT teams to prioritize resources based on business needs.What we need to see :Shown management skills with ability to optimize team performance and development.Highly skilled communicator with the ability to communicate complex concepts to others.Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to maintain strong engagement with internal and external collaborators.Shown proficiency in analyzing performance data to make informed decisions, ability to analyze, interpret and apply information, data and trends.Capability to assess and mitigate capacity-relates risks with keen commercial and financial awareness, with a full comprehension of impact to business and internal stakeholders.Highly developed numeracy, statistical and reporting.
