We are looking for an AI Software Engineer to join the NVIDIA Developer Technology group (Devtech) and work with a team of experienced engineers on innovative uses of AI for games and intelligent characters. The Devtech team works with NVIDIA researchers and leading game developers to bring cutting edge AI research from across NVIDIA and the industry to gamers and 3D professionals in high performance packages such as Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM).What you’ll be doing:Fine-tune LLMs to create intelligent game characters and improve the experience of human-AI interaction.Use various compression techniques such as quantization, distillation and pruning to fit the AI models to user devices and maximize the performance of inferencing engines.Apply generative AI techniques to game engines, including photogrammetry, AI assisted asset generation, real-time neural graphics, and physics-based animation.Develop and maintain open-source projects and libraries based on popular LLMs and game engines.Collaborate with game developers on optimizations and improvements for specific LLMs and generative AI applications.Interact closely with the architecture and driver teams at NVIDIA in ensuring the best possible experience on current generation hardware, and on determining trends and features for next generation architectures.What we need to see:A Master’s degree (or higher) from a leading university in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field OR more than 2 years’ experience as a software engineer working on machine learning, natural language processing, neural graphics, or making similar interactive software or high-performance AI models.Recent active experience with deep learning frameworks, Python, and C++ development. Ability to use CUDA (or parallel programming) for performance optimization.Experience in fine-tuning and developing applications on mainstream LLMs.Track record of participating complex projects such as LLMs, PC/console games, films, or novel AI based apps.Sharp mathematical skills.Travel for on-site visits to conferences and with developers.Ways to stand out from the crowd: Contributing to a popular open-source project or work on an interesting side-project.Understanding of parallel computing, 3D graphics and modern GPU architectures.Working knowledge of graphics APIs (DirectX or Vulkan) and commercial game engines (Unreal Engine or Unity 3D).Working knowledge of Agile principles and methods.Good communication and interpersonal skills in English and Mandarin.NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
