The Data Center Systems Engineering division of NVIDIA is seeking an intern with experience in optoelectronics to join the Advanced Development (AD) team in Gothenburg (Sweden). The AD group is doing research and development of next generation optoelectronic devices and systems for high-speed communication. The intern will be part of the Components Team, which is developing high-speed optoelectronic components, and will be working on modeling high-speed photodiodes for 200 Gbit/s data rate. What you will be doing:Develop an electrical equivalent circuit model for a photodiode with bandwidth > 50 GHz. The model will include parasitic effects and carrier transport related phenomena.Extract chip characteristics and system performance (photodiode with transimpedance amplifier) through modeling.Validate the model through experiments (high-frequency impedance measurements, time-domain optical response measurements). If time permits, co-design with other elements of the receiver and transmitter. What we need to see:Student pursuing a MSc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Background: physics, electrical engineering, microwaves, photonics.Experience from simulations tools such as circuit simulators (VerilogA/ADS/Cadence), MATLAB and/or COMSOL.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Experience from RF measurements on optoelectronic or other components. With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, we are widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us and, due to unprecedented growth, our exclusive engineering teams are rapidly growing. If you're a creative and autonomous engineer with a real passion for technology, we want to hear from you.NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
