Generative AI Performance Engineer

We are now looking for a NVIDIA Picasso Generative AI Performance Engineer to join our diverse Performance Lab team! NVIDIA is at the forefront of GPU & Artificial Intelligence technology while developing groundbreaking custom generative AI for visual applications. NVIDIA Picasso is a foundry for custom generative AI for visual design, providing a state-of-the-art model architecture to build, customize and deploy foundation models with ease. Enterprise developers, software creators, and service providers can choose to train, fine-tune, optimize, and infer foundation models for image, video, 3D and 360 HDRi to meet their visual design needs. Picasso streamlines foundation model training, optimization, and inference on NVIDIA DGX Cloud.We are responsible for expertly and accurately finetuning, prototyping, and benchmarking Edify Models through NVIDIA Picasso. We accomplish this by writing tools that improve the team’s ability to capture data through automation and crafting efficient processes for testing a wide variety of applications and hardware; including multi-node GPU cloud compute platforms. You will have the opportunity to work with multi-functional teams and AI researchers to develop Edify model pipeline solutions based on their needs. You will work in a multifaceted environment where multiple projects will be active at once and priorities may shift frequently.What you’ll be doing:Interact directly with NVIDIA Generative AI Marketing and Research teams to boost customer engagement by developing finetuning model pipelines, benchmarking Generative AI solutions, and set the industry performance bar for NVIDIA Picasso.Partnering with engineering, product and business teams, understanding their strategies and technical needs and helping define high-value solutionsDebug, support, and improve NVIDIA’s Picasso applications working closely with AI researchers, develops, project managers, marketing, and cloud infrastructure teams.Benchmark, finetune, and validate the latest Edify and generative AI models covering a wide range of solutions for image, video, 3D and 360 HDRI generationParticipate in prototyping, crafting, developing, scaling, and maintaining automation pipeline scripts, tools, and services for rapid AI deployments.Report, guide, and advise NVIDIA’s Picasso marketing and research teams on all current and historical performance data.Improve existing data visualization tools to promote data generated by the Performance Lab.What we need to see: Bachelors or Masters of Science in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of hands-on experience, primarily with Cloud computing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning software applications and frameworksKnowledge and usage of AI models, generative AI solutions, and cloud infrastructure pipelinesStrong understanding of GPUs, Cloud Infrastructure, Parallel Computing, CI/CD, GIT Deployments, and large-scale code basesProficiency with GPU benchmarks and tooling including changing hardware clocks, bandwidth, memory allocation, and settings that would affect performance.Excellent programming and debugging skills in a scripting language such as Python or Unix shell.Solid understanding of using Linux, debugging GPU/Cloud setups, and compiling software from source.Desire to be involved in multiple diverse and creative projectsExcellent presentation, communication, written, and teamwork skillsWays to stand out from the crowd: Understanding of Deep Learning and AIKnowledge of Multi-node GPU setups, GPU clusters, or Cloud computingFluency in build systems (e.g. Make, CMake, and/or Bazel)Experience with Rendering, Compute Graphics, 3D Modeling, or Simulation softwareComprehension of CUDA, VULKAN, OpenGL, or other GPU/Graphics librariesThe base salary range is $128,000 - $201,250.
