Practical System Engineer

NVIDIA is looking for a dedicated Practical System Engineer who's passionate about computers and edge-technology platforms.The primary responsibilities will involve building edge-technology platforms, lab operations, and equipment maintenance.The successful candidate will join the Firmware infrastructure team that builds and maintains NVIDIA edge-technology platforms.What you’ll be doing:Operate and maintain lab infrastructure, ensuring flawless connectivity, equipment maintenance, and the efficient use of debugging utilities.Build, configure, and maintain sophisticated, bare-metal, and virtual computing systems.Solve and address issues related to desktop applications, workstations, and associated equipment to ensure flawless operations.Efficiently coordinate team purchasing requests and inventory management to maintain operational efficiency.Get along with other engineering and product teams around the globe to coordinate FW/SW deliveries.What we need to see:2+ years of experience in roles typical of top technology firms, including network administration, electronics practical engineering, or equivalent positions within the semiconductor and high-tech sectors.Strong practical experience in a lab environment and a deep understanding of system-level operations.Passion for computers and networking.Willingness to work within a team environment of constantly evolving requirements.Collaboration with others across groups in a direct and productive manner.Creative, and open-minded for new insights and for innovation.Self-learning skills and ability to work autonomously.Good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Practical engineer diploma in electronics/software.Showed knowledge of Linux environments and bash scripting.System administration and certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields.Familiarity with the understanding of serial protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, etc.) and hardware schematic sheets.Proficiency with electronic lab test equipment, including DMMs, scopes, and debugging utilities.We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
