NVIDIA is in the forefront of autonomous drive technology employing some of the most innovative engineers and technologists. We are seeking system safety engineers to lead efforts developing the next generation of safe, AI-powered autonomous driving systems. In this role, you will focus on applying safety analysis skills and developing safety concepts for the NVIDIA autonomous drive products. You will be part of a team that covers the entire autonomous driving system and coordinates development teams across NVIDIA.What you’ll be doing:Collaborate with product definition and customer teams to analyze product features and use cases, and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk AssessmentWork closely with diverse teams of engineers to develop safety concepts and derive safety requirements, and drive alignment across the NVIDIA engineering organizationApply your skills to develop strong safety argumentation in support of safety case developmentContribute to architecture decomposition and safety architecture development, including design of safety monitoring conceptsPerform system safety analysis working with teams in multiple domains, including HW and SW teamsWe will count on you to guide teams in system safety methodologies for design and verificationWe will look to you to define safety verification and validation strategies and to collaborate with other teams within NVIDIA on V&V planning and executionWhat we need to see:BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of confirmed proven experienceWe are looking for technically strong engineers with a hands-on approach to systems and safety engineering, who thrive working in teams and across multiple domainsStrong written and verbal communication skills to help guide teams on safety concepts and requirements, and to develop clear and concise safety argumentationWe seek engineers who bring experience in safety analysis, safety concept development, safety V&VBring a keen eye reviewing existing processes and finding gaps to suggest improvementsWays to stand out from the crowd:Hands-on experience with innovative safety engineering methodologies – such as HARA, safety concept and requirements development, safety architecture and architectural decomposition, safety V&V strategies, safety metrics (KPIs) for SOTIF, SOTIF validationSuccess applying the safety V-Model to sophisticated engineering projects, ideally in all stages of the system development life cycleHands-on experience in ADAS or autonomous vehicle systemsSafety analysis methodologies & practices (HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, DFA) and Safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO/PAS 21448, IEC 61508)Experience with formal requirements management environments and expressing requirements, behavior and design using SysMLWith competitive salaries and generous benefits packages, we are widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers; we have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us and, due to unparalleled growth, our outstanding teams are rapidly growing.
