Within HP’s Personal Systems, the Advance Compute Solutions Group develops the world’s most powerful workstations for mobile and desktops, as well as other vertical- or industry-specific solutions, such as in Data Science and AI.In the development of new solutions and services that amaze, we are looking for a leader for our Solution Program Management Office within the ACS Group, that are beyond hardware-only products and services. The Solutions PMO Manager shall lead a team of between six to eight program managers accountable for the ACS Solution Lifecycle programs. The Solution PMO Manager reports to the Director of Solution Engagement, who then reports directly to the GM of Advanced Compute Solutions. The Solution PMO is set up with a direct line to the GM and shall maintain its impartiality.The SPMO shall provide guidance on implementation of foundational program governance practices that enable Solutions program teams to execute effectively and efficiently, while delivering innovative product offerings that serve customer needs and desires. With the changing customer requirements, the Solution Program Manager will need to bring a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities to improve program and business processes and lead the way to develop and implement best practices.Due to the advanced and unique one-of-the-kind or first-of-its-kind nature of the solutions or services being managed, the Solution PMO Manager must demonstrate a strong entrepreneurship capability while adhering to scalable and repeatable program management and/or agile practices. Each program may have varying combinations of hardware, software, and services, to serve various type of customer personas and GTM methods. Responsibilities:Ensures industry standard program governance is established for Solution Programs.Leads a team that manages expectations, dependencies and deliverables for cross-functional program teams responsible for delivering solutions.Instills focus on complete and timely delivery of the specified program objectives while balancing customer and business objectives.Ensures Solution PMO team members employ best practices to track progress, resolve issues, and present alternatives for management consideration.Adapts to changing customer and technology landscapes to deliver the customer outcome based on the various metrics within the LAER model.Maintains and updates the Solution Lifecycle Process and its adherence through periodic internal audits, as well as demonstrates completion of audit using external sources.Leads the Solutions PMO team members responsible for managing programs and initiatives in accordance with phase gates (checkpoints), decision-making models, and program management methodologies.Facilitates decision-making through collection of data and information, presenting a clear case to key stakeholders.Judges adherence to and progress against program objectives based on a clearly defined set of criteria; serve as the primary spokesperson to develop metrics, report status, manage expectations, and notify key stakeholders of upcoming issuesEnsures program decisions are supported by timely and effective change management practices.Manages resources for multiple ongoing projects and programs to ensure they are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives and timelines are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.Builds relationships across functional teams and businesses to drive change within and outside of the organization by aligning with other teams on common goals and objectives.Provides direct and ongoing leadership to Solutions PMO team members including coaching and guidance on the planning, coordination, and communication required to lead cross-functional teams through the Solution Lifecycle for successful delivery of products and services that delight the customer.Relies on a breadth and depth of business acumen to guide the teams and connect how their day-to-day activities support the overall business strategy. May lead or participate in special projects that address business needs within and across business units.Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.Promotes teamwork, inclusion, cooperative effort and demonstrating professional respect. Education and Experience Required:First level university degree or equivalent experience required.Advanced university degree preferred.PMP/PMI certification or commensurate Program Management knowledgebase required.Typically, 10 or more years of related work experience, including 5 or more years of people management experience.Knowledge and Skills:Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management.Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Experienced in managing human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $135,650.00 -- $196,700.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
