Your potential is waiting; why are you?Put your talent for creative problem solving to work at Genesys, where it will be appreciated and recognized every day.What the role isThe Genesys Cloud Senior Software Engineer in Test is a talented software development professional playing a crucial role in the success of the Genesys Cloud platform.  In this role, you will work closely with product managers and other engineers throughout the platform to take Genesys to the next level.  This role sits within the core platform team and reports to a team lead, also an engineer.  The team’s purpose is to provide a rock-solid, secure, highly available, and feature-rich foundation for the larger Genesys Cloud contact center solution.  Specifically, you will join the team behind a microservice that performs all aspects of routing conversations to agents.What the role isn’tThis role is not just executing tests or maintaining pipelines. You’ll be accepted for who you are, wherever you are and will be welcomed into the One Genesys culture, where your talents will be allowed to blossom without sacrifice to work/life balance.What you’ll do:Define test strategies and test plans for new featuresDesign, develop and maintain automated tests in Java using the TestNG frameworkIdentify acceptance criteria and implement automated testing to balance operational efficiency and maintaining optimal test coverageCoordinate bug hunts to determine feature completeness and identify defects in new featuresLiaise with the Performance Testing team to define and execute high-load test scenarios for the routing serviceParticipate in code reviews to learn and grow as well as to help your team members learn through constructive feedbackLook for areas of improvement within the code, testing harnesses, and infrastructureParticipate in regular team and QA Guild meetings for open communication, sharing ideas, and supporting othersStay up to date on wider platform changes in order to implement updates and best practices as necessaryEventually, join the rotation of on-call engineers and respond to critical service alerts – something we naturally strive to minimize!Who you are (minimum requirements):You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related fieldYou have 5+ years of software development experience in Java or a similar languageYou have significant experience in an automation testing roleYou are self-driven and comfortable taking the initiative to work asynchronously with your teamYou can break down complex problems to find and implement the most elegant solutionYou have excellent problem solving and critical thinking skillsYou have excellent written and verbal communication skillsYou are familiar with the full application lifecycle, from development through deployment and supportYou have used distributed version control systems, such as Git, and know the difference between Git and GitHubBonuses: you are experienced with microservice architecture, cloud-based software development (e.g., AWS), Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools, distributed event streaming systems (e.g., Kafka), and RESTIf a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
