Your potential is waiting; why are you?We are seeking an experienced Legal Operations Manager to act as the primary contact for all matter management issues with law firms, vendors, and internal stakeholder for our legal department.You will demonstrate passion for collaboration, and problem solving, and combine technical acumen and analysis skills to proficiently manage and optimize all processes related to outside counsel and vendor management.In this role, you will be reporting to the Director of Legal operations while having the opportunity to also work alongside other Legal Operations team members who are curious people that are passionate about running legal like a business as well as being inspired by results.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the legal vendor and outside counsel management programGenerate reports, perform spend analysis, be “the go-to person” for all legal billing needs and implement data-driven strategies to control costs, forecast outside counsel spend and deliver against budget targetsBe the main legal vendor point of contract for the Legal department, facilitate payment for services rendered, provide reporting to various partners, and organize business reviews with strategic partnersAs the owner of the Legal Department’s Outside Counsel Guidelines, you will be responsible for ensuring invoices from law firms and legal vendors comply with billing guidelinesMaintain legal billing technology functional design and provide training to relevant stakeholdersAnalyze key billing and matter data sets to perform comparative analytics and trends across functional activities and recommend process improvements to ensure efficienciesCollaborate with teams, including the broader legal, IT, procurement, AP, vendor management and financeRequirementsRequires BS/ BA degree5+ years of increasing experience working in a Legal Organization requiredExperience with legal/data analytics and legal terminologyDemonstrated leadership and project management in cross-functional projects.Outside Counsel Program Management experienceExcel in business applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, SharePointAdvanced Excel skills (e.g., Formulas, Pivot Charts, Pivot Tables, Formatting, etc.)Ability to work with multiple data sets to make informed recommendations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, relationship building and communication skills.Must have excellent client service orientation and demonstrated high level of customer focus and demonstrated integrity to manage sensitive and confidential information.Must be self-motivated with a desire to continuously learn and grow as a professional and as an individual.Preferred QualificationsExperience with electronic billing, matter management, databases, data mining & analytical software tools. Experience with legal enterprise software Onit and SimpleLegal a plus.Experience creating reports via Tableau and/ or Microsoft Power BI a plus.Should have experience working with vendors to solicit proposals, manage budgets and effectively manage a project from its initiation to delivery.Must be a team player who can easily handle shifting priorities, multi-tasking in a deadline-oriented environment Understanding of common alternative fee arrangements (e.g., fixed fees, fee caps, volume discounts).Intellectually curious with ability to process a great deal of information in an exciting environment.#LI-RemoteCompensation:This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
