What this role is: As a Senior Software Developer in Test, you will design test strategies for new features developed for our ever-growing Genesys Cloud Platform. You will spearhead the testing effort as a member of a cross-functional team including Product Management, Development, UX, and Documentation. Responsibilities include understanding the architecture and design decisions, defining and implementing new tests, evaluating the end-user experience, and asserting the overall quality of the feature. What this role isn’t: It is not just executing tests or maintenance of test jobs and pipelines. This isn’t a pure automation role, but one focused on a holistic approach to quality: manual, automated, accessibility, security, performance, and scalability. This isn’t a narrowly focused role on one service and one team, but an opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams distributed across the globe. What you’ll bring to the table: We are looking for someone who is technically strong and a skilled communicator. You’ll coordinate with talented peers to identify risks and design solutions to mitigate them. After learning about our product and process, you will contribute code to a shared automated testing project that includes tests executed daily and in multiple deployment pipelines. You will recommend and prototype new tools and techniques to help us optimize and evolve our processes. You will apply your skills to guide junior team members and provide input and feedback to peers. Some details about what you’ll do: Participate in charter meetings and collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to understand new feature intent, scope, and roadmap. Review design and architecture and evaluate risks and the scope of testing required. Develop a test plan and strategy with the delivery team to ensure appropriate test coverage Estimate the testing effort and time required to deliver new features Design and implement new automated tests for APIs, UIs, or Mobile Apps Coordinate exploratory testing and participate in Bug hunts to gather feedback on user experience Maintain automated test jobs in our TestNG-based framework by triaging failed automation test executions in our Jenkins pipelines and report defects and make fixes/updates to test code Participate in Design and Code Reviews to provide feedback to other engineers and improve our testing framework Requirements: 5+ years of experience in professional software testing Experience with Object-oriented programming with Java or similar Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools Designing test plans for cloud software UI Testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Protractor Test frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit REST API testing (functional and automation) Build tools such as Maven or Gradle Version control such as git MacOS Pluses: Mobile testing (iOS and Android) - Espresso, XCUI, Appium Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as EC2, S3 and Lambda Experience with Sumo Logic, New Relic, or other monitoring tools Experience testing microservices and end-to-end usage of them within a multi-tenant cloud application #LI-EP1#remoteIf a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
