As a Senior Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with taxes for our organization. You will play a vital role in the tax planning and reporting process, while maintaining adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Job DescriptionEssential Functions:Tax Planning and Compliance:Understand and research a variety of complex tax issues, and conduct analysis of tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance with corporate and indirect taxesDevelop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organizations tax positionPrepare and review tax returns, which may include income taxes, sales tax, and other applicable tax filingsInterpret and review changes to tax laws and regulations, present varied impact scenarios to stakeholders and lead the implementation of the necessary adjustmentsTax Reporting and Documentation:Prepare accurate and timely tax reports, schedules, and documentation required for internal and external reporting purposesLead and collaborate with cross-functional workgroups to gather necessary financial and operational data for tax reportingEnsure the accuracy and completeness of all tax-related documentation, including reviewing documentation of junior team members, maintaining proper records and supporting documentation for audits and inquiriesCorporate TaxAnalyze, prepare, and review book to tax differences, deferred tax assets, liabilities, and valuation allowance schedules under the rules of ASC  740Prepare and review taxable income and cash tax forecasts for key stakeholdersCalculate estimated tax payments across all jurisdictions as neededPrepare technical memorandum documenting tax issuesAnalyze transfer pricing strategies and maintain policies in placeCoordinate with third party tax consultants related to tax compliance, tax provision, transfer pricing, and other projects as neededTax Audit Support:Lead tax audits by coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities, escalate issues to team leader when necessaryProvide required documentation and explanations to support the organizations tax positions during auditsReview and respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities, resolving any issues and discrepanciesTax Advisory and Risk Management:Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on tax-related matters, including potential risks and opportunitiesDevelop subject matter expertise to support the international subsidiary planning and strategy, and provide recommendations for tax changes when necessaryStay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to identify potential risks and opportunities for the organizationCollaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions and transactionsContinuous ImprovementUnderstand complex tax processes, monitor efficiency and effectiveness metrics, and enhance process utilizing insights and best practicesStay updated with emerging tax technologies and tools to enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of tax related tasksIdentify and participate in professional development opportunities, such as trainings or certifications to expand tax knowledge and skills of the team.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance or combination of equivalent education, experience or superior performance4+ years of relevant tax experience with indirect or corporate taxesSkilled at performing tax research and applying findings to work productProficient knowledge of tax preparation programs and tax complianceEffective verbal and written communication skills in a teaming environment and with all levels of managementStrong PC skills including high proficiency in Excel with ability to manipulate datasetsDemonstrates a high degree of professionalism with the ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential materialExceptional aptitude for accuracy and timelinessFlexible and dependable ASC 740 exposure and its application to corporate taxesDesired:Master’s degree (MBA, Finance, Accounting)CPAnCino retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position as business operations require.
