In this role, you will be a key member of the development team and will focus on building, testing, and supporting leading edge Mainframe Security solutions used by many of the World’s largest companies.The R&D Software Engineer will perform complex code modification, testing, and debugging tasks, as well as provide high level analysis related to software design and development. The person in this role is expected to develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.Work Location: Lisle, ILWhat you will be doing in a typical week:Developing and testing product enhancements and defect fixesFollowing a behaviorally driven development (BDD) methodologyWriting Unit and Integration testsParticipating in design and code reviews with other engineersActively supporting and contributing to end of iteration customer demosContributing to team retrospectives to help identify and resolve team impedimentsTaking ownership of problems and continuously striving to become a better problem solverPreferred Education:Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in a software related field.Work Experience:5+ years of experience in a software related field.Qualifications:At the end of the day, the main things we’re searching for are talent and passion.  However, experience in one or more of these areas could make you a great addition to our team:IBM mainframe environment development experienceExperience in software development using IBM Assembler, Metal C or C/C++Mainframe debugging skills using IPCS, VM Trace, or XDCExperience in implementing JCL to execute batch processes in zOS or zVSEExposure to RESTful APIs and Object-Oriented Programming.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environmentExperience mentoring, teaching, and developing junior team membersExperience in software testing methodologies such as BDD and TDDKnowledge of source code repository systems such as Git/GitHub and EndevorEffective communication skillsExperience in Agile Software DevelopmentBusiness Travel and Physical Demands:Minimal business travel is expected for this position.Office environment.
