Data Analyst – ProQuest TDM Studio

We are looking for a Business / Data Analyst to join our ProQuest team in Ann Arbor, MI. This is an amazing opportunity to work on TDM Studio. In this role you will work with the development and product teams to support technical data/coding work in addition to scoping out requirements and preparing projects. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsBachelor’s degree or similar in Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Social Sciences, MLIS, or related area1-3 years of programming experience using Python or R (preferred) for data analysis / business analyticsIt would be great if you also have . . .  Interest and familiarity with metadata creation, mapping, and documentation is nice to have but not required.Some past experience working with text data and data formats such as XML or parquet is nice to have but not required.Familiarity with key exploratory data analysis packages in R or Python (e.g. pandas, numpy or similar) and techniquesInterest in engaging customers and helping researchers succeed with their research.Eagerness to work across different business units and teams to acquire necessary knowledge for product delivery.Interest in both the technical and planning aspects of Product ManagementWhat will you be doing in this role?Work with the product team and the development team to map and ingest new content for our text mining product, TDM StudioBased on analysis, contribute to and scope out product development requirements and storiesCreate and update data materials and dictionaries to drive value with researchers using the solutionTake part in product user interviews to understand research workflow pain points and develop solutions.Work with the Product Team to create additional researcher training and support materials, videos, and documentation.Help to maintain code base for current and future sample Jupyter Notebooks in Python and RDevelop sample scripts in Jupyter Notebook using Python or R which can be included in TDM StudioGet to know our researchers and lead TDM-researcher conference presentation panels, case studies, and webinars.About the TeamAs part of the TDM Studio product team, you will gain experience building a fast-growing, data science product and build skills and expertise in computational text analysis, NLP, and data analysis. We work with the Product Team and our academic customers and researchers to grow product and services.
