We are looking for a Senior Director, Database Development to join our team. You will lead the creation of a data strategy and form a team which will help us to continue the development of our databases and partner the central DBA team. You will work with Development, DBA and DevOps teams to choose, design and implement database solutions that meet product requirements. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsMinimum of 10 years of experience in Oracle/any relational database development Minimum of 7 years of experience in high availability/resilience architecture of database serversMinimum of 7 years of experience in cloud-based DB as service solutions such as AWS RDS and Azure SQLIt would be great if you also had . . . Experience of Query optimization, performance tuning, and distributed database designStrong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programmingIn-depth understanding of database architecture and data modelling principlesGood knowledge to No-SQL database distributed cache solutionsGood knowledge to modern DevOps practice and the adoption in database developmentExperience with data warehousing and ETL processesWhat will you be doing in this role? Lead and manage a team of up to 10 senior database developersEnsure strong reliability, scalability, and performance of our database estate.Establish partnership with the architecture group and execute on our product and technical strategy.Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to deliver business outcomes as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to promote continuous deployment of databases in our products and process improvements.Resolve high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and leading industry practices or standards.Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications data design, modelling, database development and ensure database design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint and product roadmapUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.Develop comprehensive knowledge base of data flows and integrations across various products and services of the business and identify improvement opportunities that delivers efficiencies around our data systems architecture and overall data strategy.Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.Assist in third line support for business impacting incidents as needed hours.Establish a database champion community to serve as an advisor or coach own team or members across the technology community, allocating work as necessary.Together with the partner teams, user community, business analysts and Tech management contribute to innovative & best-in-class solutions for our businessHours of WorkFull time, permanent, Hybrid roleMust reside within a commutable distance to one of our London officeAt Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
