This platform is mission critical and serves some of the worlds largest companies running their businesses on Workday. We are now looking for a Software Development Manager to lead one of our Tables Engineering teams. Tables are a key UI component in Workday - they are used in almost every Workday product and are rendered more than 20 billion times per month in Production! The team will be focused on improving the UX (look & feel, usability, discoverability, etc.), performance, accessibility, and maintainability of our Tables component and associated backend services.About the RoleIf you are a passionate leader who loves being challenged and want to be part of the team driving the next generation of Workdays UI Platform in an innovative and dynamic environment, then this could be the role for you.ResponsibilitiesHire and lead a dedicated and passionate development teamAssist direct reports with career growth and personal developmentWork with program managers, peers and team members to set the best technical direction for your teamDevelop close working relationships with leadership, Product Management and Product Design to create a world-class user experience togetherFocus on quality, while increasing effectiveness; Delivering value, while reducing wasteFoster an environment where communication, teamwork, and collaboration are rewardedEnergise and inspire your team, and have fun engineering software!Participate in our 12x7 on-call rotation supporting our applications in development and customer environmentsAbout YouBasic QualificationsBS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience3+ years proven experience leading development teams in agile environments, or equivalent experienceYou have a strong focus on delivering high quality software products and you value test automationOther QualificationsGood knowledge of object oriented design / development with languages such as; Java, .NET. C#, Python, Ruby etc.Solid understanding of engineering best practices, and relevant tools such as Selenium, Git, JUnit, Jira, Bamboo etc.You are proactive and able to deliver on initiatives that you startYou have lead teams who have built and shipped complex software products, while constantly striving for continuous improvementOur Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
