The Performance, Resilience and Scalability Engineering team is looking for the best candidates to help drive performance, resiliency and scalability of Workday’s leading enterprise cloud HCM, Analytics and Financial offerings.About the RoleThe position within the Performance, Resiliency and Scalability group, is ideally suited to senior candidates from a performance engineering or development background with a deep focus on performance and resiliency engineering specialising in Public Cloud related technologies. The team has a broad charter that spans from profiling and optimising distributed architectures to the debugging and recreation of specific customer issues, to using the latest Big Data/Machine Learning techniques in order to extract actionable data and model future capacity and scalability needs. Workday Performance, Resiliency and Scalability Engineers are highly skilled and rigorous engineers who debug, measure, support, and improve our software and platforms. They play a critical role in optimizing services across the full technology stack where they distill opaque problems into actionable solutions.About YouBasic QualificationsBachelors Degree or 10+ years of equivalent relevant experienceDevelopment or Operation experience designing, analysing and optimising large distributed architectures on Public Cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS Experience supporting server orchestration solutions in production, such as Kubernetes, Mesos or DockerExcellent knowledge of performance and resilience engineering methodology, testing techniques and approachesExperience triaging and resolving pipeline and production issuesExcellent written and oral communication skillsMust be able to seamlessly transition between solo and team projectsOther QualificationsCertifications relating to Kubernetes and public cloud providers such as GCP and AWSExperience with service health instrumentation and associated observability and instrumentation tooling such as Grafana or ELKExperience with Performance, Load, Stress, and Scalability Testing and load testing tools such as Jmeter or GatlingKnowledge of storage, networking and configuration managementExperience with Data Science and ML technologiesProven ability to debug/administer Linux based operating systems with Infrastructure and application performance tuning and optimisationOur Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
