In this role you will take an active role in designing and building the infrastructure, tools, and services delivering Workday Adaptive Planning next generation cloud platform. You will be challenged with everything from infrastructure tooling, automation, build and deployment pipelines, monitoring and logging architecture, containerization and more!. If you like trying new techniques and approaches to sophisticated problems, love to learn new technologies, are a natural collaborator and an extraordinary teammate who brings out the best in everyone around you, then give us a call!About the RoleDevelop organization wide architecture standards and best practices to drive efficiencyDesign the  platform features using cloud services (AWS, GCP, and Azure) and standard methodologies such as continuous self-service delivery, Tenant lifecycle management, zero-downtime, Scalable, and feature-flags based deploymentsWrite functional specifications and design documents for specific areas of the cloud platform like cloud agnostic provisioning, networking, service mesh, security, CI/CD, auto-scaling, self-healing, observability, etc.Support Workday Planning Cloud infrastructure, working with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Chef and Terraform.Participate in infrastructure automation leveraging Terraform, Chef, Jenkins and Golang.Collaborate effectively with other engineers to solve most complex technical problems. This involves mentoring, peer reviews, design trade offs, and complex issue troubleshooting.About YouBasic Qualifications :Experience in building large scale, highly available, cloud native, multi-tenant, infrastructure platforms on public cloud, preferably in a consumer business5+ years of experience working directly with AWS Infrastructure services. 5+ Years Experience with at least one programming language like: Go, Python, Bash, Perl. Expertise in building platform using tools like Kubernetes, Istio, OpenShift, Linux, Helm, Terraform, CI/CD, and at least one public cloud, AWS or GCP or AzureExperience in Networking, Security, and SOA (e.g: VPCs, Firewalls, HTTP/S, Certs, Load balancers, Proxies, caching strategies, etc.)BS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, and 10+ years of software development experience or Site reliability engineering experience.  Other Qualifications:3+ years of experience in leading a group of SRE’s, DevOps engineers.  Ability to lead discussions about complex solution design tradeoffs and drive conflict resolutionStrong technology presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teamsTrack record of driving technology transformation for application delivery, with strong understanding of the challenges that developers face when building and deploying cloud-nativeWorkday Pay Transparency Statement - United States The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
