Bring your brightest version of you and have a brighter work day here.About the TeamThe Workday Data Platform Engineering & Support Organization in Business Technology needs Manager who will work closely with the Principle Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer and other key partners for data analytics, product and business team to drive technical direction of platform and ensure its effective operation.About the RoleWe are looking for strong Manager who are passionate about solving problems by doing independent research, collaborating, and leading through example in supporting data ecosystems and scalable data pipelines in the public cloud. You’ll be mentoring & guiding the team for data platform tooling/capabilities or reusable frameworks which focuses on efficiency, scalability, expandability, flexibility, with the goal to empower teams. Continuous improvements in data platforms, data pipelines/application, data products, people and processes to elevate business value with agility.You will be responsible for release management, data operations processes with continuous improvement.This hands-on role focuses on implementing data platform vision, planning, and carrying out the roadmap to enable platform capabilities.ResponsibilitiesExcellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.Collaborate on clear and concise communication of major incident or outage status and resolution.Collaborate with teams and operations to ensure accurate and timely resolution for IT service issues.Support reviews of Incident and Problem data for trends and recurrence of issues.Communicating the results and business impacts of insight initiatives to partners within the team.Assist in the design, implementation, and improvement of ITSM Incident, Problem and Change Management processes across the organization.Building high quality monitoring, sets and communicating reliability requirements and coaching junior members of the team including extended teams.Gathered stakeholder and technology information to determine technical support level; elevate calls to appropriate support level as necessary.Established patterns to reoccurring issues and provided input to development teams.Conduct daily standup meetings to manage data operations and support tasks and ensure alignment with team goalsProvide insight and recommendations on process development and maturity with the aim of continual service improvement.Own the operation and maintaining data systems and processes, including databases, data warehouses, and data pipelinesAbout YouBasic Qualifications10+ years in building and handling data engineering/platform support team6+ years of proven ability in managing a team and developing production code in software engineering or data/platform engineering or writing data algorithms, designing and delivering data pipelines.Experience in establishing automated deployments using CICD, internal tools, and vendor products at scale.Self-motivated, biased for result, demonstrated ability to innovate, and solutions to ambiguous sometimes undefined problems.Hands-on experience at least with one language like python, Go, java or Scala.Good knowledge and experience on any of these cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Thorough understanding of modern data ecosystems such as Databricks, Kafka, Redshift, Snaplogic, Airflow Snowflake and ability to stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends.Other QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science/EngineeringExperience with data visualization tools: TableauStrong knowledge of Marketing & Sales (RevOps), Customer Experience & Support is needed.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and execute on decisions.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
