This could be your next career move. As a Physical Security Technician, you will support the physical security systems at all the Equinix Data Centers in the Greater Los Angeles area. You will install, de-install and maintain biometric systems, hand scans, card readers, gates, electronic door locks, and security cameras as well as maintain the associate software supporting these devices. You will also provide condition reports on issues such as a camera down, or a door not opening or functioning correctly. ResponsibilitiesSupport security installations and de-installationsHandle work requests for security custom orders internally and externally; based on scale, may also require vendor coordinationSupport tracking of customer security ticketing orders, including reporting requirements and audit requestsWork with senior team members to develop and distribute Request for Proposals (RFPs) to vendors for moderate-scale security infrastructure projects requiring multiple biddersCoordinate auxiliary equipment and machines with problem solving and minor repairs to avoid/minimize downtime; may support the troubleshooting and maintenance of office security equipment, if necessarySupport issues for local security, in responding to and resolving issues and/or condition reports for the ACS (Access Control System) and VMS (Video Management Systems), in accordance with policies and proceduresSupport preventative maintenance for security infrastructure, according to the standard operating procedures, for on-time and accurate security patching and updatesParticipate in customer-facing support requests, including negotiated audits, security custom orders and cage build initiationCoordinate asset inventory for security IP address management, including tracking and distributing IP addresses for security equipmentResponds to on-site security incidents and events, including security failures, problems, and delaysAssist with reporting and root cause analysis relating to moderately difficult security incidentsDevelop an understanding of the security incident decision matrix and properly report security incident declarations with the Equinix Operations Center (EOC); work with stakeholders for potential Internal Incident Report (IIR)/Post Incident Report (PIR) response QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years of security installation or low voltage electrical work experienceExperience with Security System Software (AMAG, CompleteView, etc.) preferredValid Driver’s license and personal vehicleEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
