They are expected to build strong partnerships with all major functions and build an internal consulting services capability to support strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and real estate investments.ResponsibilitiesInvestment ManagementResponsible for near- and long-term capacity plans and maintain an inventory roadmap for each metroHelps develop metro real estate strategies and support capex forecasts on planned developmentIdentifies business cases for new developmentOversees the financial modeling and development of presentationsAdvises Design, Construction, Sales, Ops, Finance and other departments on optimal development plansResponsible for the investment approval process and capex prioritizationDevelops and presents investment proposals to executive managementDevelops asset management optimization strategies, including expansion, contraction, disposition, and reconfiguration of propertiesDevelops recommendations for improving financial analysis methodologyReviews ad hoc financial analysis and support investment analysis for other business units including M&A, Strategy, Business Development, and othersM&ASupports buyside and sellside M&A processesIdentifies deal issues and works with teams to resolveActively follows and analyze deal activity in areas of interest to EquinixDevelops deal valuation frameworks including comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow and related investment return valuation models; and pro forma accretion/dilution analysesDevelops operational models and synergy forecasts for targets with FP&A supportWorks with Treasury team to support financing associated with a transactionSupports development of M&A thesis (the "why") in support of Strategy with the Business Unit HeadsDevelops operational models and synergy forecasts for targetsDevelops transaction timelineSupports the storyboarding of presentations to drive discussion at the Senior Executive levelCommunicates with stakeholders to ensure alignment on active deal pipeline and resources allocation prioritiesStrategic Planning and DevelopmentManages the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with the Regional and Corporate teamsEvaluates and (in some cases) spearheads corporate development opportunities, partnering with Finance, Marketing and other operating areasDevelops strategy/business cases, sells into organization, leads and manages cross-functional program teams, and raises/resolves issuesTakes on a wide variety of roles, depending on the projectGives presentations to senior management on key initiativesParticipates in and leads key initiatives during the annual strategy planning processGuides research into market extension opportunities (i.e. new services, solutions, business models)Project and Program ManagementWorks with E-team members to identify business issues requiring project managementDevelops Executive staff and Board presentation materialsIdentifies, designs, prioritizes, manages and reports on complex strategic initiatives across the businessLeads efforts on internal consulting projects focused on new markets/products, growth initiatives and profitability improvementsProvides short-term consulting/problem solving/performance improvement support and advice to E-teamRuns interdepartmental working group meetings with little or no supervisionInterviews HODs and Country Managers to troubleshoot issuesRuns working group team meetings between HODs and VPsCross-Functional CoordinationHelps kick-off meetings and hosts sections of cross-departmental meetings as neededWorks with working group team members to identify, catalogue, document, and make recommendations to more senior team membersProvides summary notes and follow-up emails to working teamsQualificationsBachelor's degree preferred; CPA or MBA a plus7+ years of business experience, preferably in Investment Banking/Top tier Management consulting/Corporate Finance/Corporate Development at a leading technology company preferredEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
