This team sits under the Data Center Services Business Operations organization, supporting a $7B global business unit. As director of analytics & insights you will provide strategic support to our Colocation and Enabling Services divisions, solving complex issues and providing insightful reporting to help drive better business decisions.ResponsibilitiesAct as a key partner to VP level leadership, using data to unearth trends that will guide in decision making and prioritizationLead a small team of data analysts but also work with data directly to answer the tough questionsHelp the team move from many disparate reports into areas of true insight and actionWrangle data from many different data sources and do deep dive analysis to deliver business insights to drive business decisions and optimize company performanceContribute to and/or manage the standards for data exploration: apply and teach leading edge analysis tools and techniques to determine and predict trends, correlations, and causal relationshipsWork closely with DCS Product stakeholders to understand the business and use available data to effectively answer questions, solve problems, and perform ad-hoc data analysisMake and implement recommendations of what asks should be prioritized and whyMeet with stakeholders to explain analytic results in clear, business friendly languageHelp create and maintain a suite of Tableau product dashboards that provide easy to understand visualizations and insightsAct as a point of escalation to resolve complex inquiries from stakeholdersAct as an internal consulting resource and data expert that stakeholders and lower level analysts can leverageBecome a subject matter expert on DCS-product data (asset, billing, and customer data)Qualifications10+ years turning data into actionable insightsDemonstrated experience in leading a high performing team of data analytics professionalsDemonstrated experience turning analytics into action plans, separating nice-to-have metrics from areas where intervention can make a material differenceFamiliarity with advanced analytics, predictive and prescriptive machine learning to optimize business outcomesAdvanced Tableau development experience, SQL and Microsoft Excel skills requiredExperience working with advanced data analytics tools (BigQuery, Looker, Alteryx, R, Python, SAS)Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other big data platforms an assetProject management skills an assetBachelor’s degree required, preferably in an analytical field (math, computer science, statistics etc.)Skills and AttributesEnthusiastic collaborator, skilled in developing strong and robust analyses that drive business changeExceptional communication skills, specializing in data-driven storytelling & visualization with a focus on diagnostic and predictive analyticsStrong personal accountability, persistence, and resilienceExcellent critical thinking skills with the ability to dissect a problem and determine how to best use the available data to solve itDemonstrated experience as a collaborative team playerEnthusiastic and passionate about learning and developing both technical and business acumen skillsEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability. If you are a qualified candidate and need assistance or an accommodation, please let us know by completing this form.Equinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
