We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment. that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.  Job Summary SY9 based at Rosehill is the first Hyper Scale in the Equinix Australian portfolio and we are looking to add a Critical Facilities Engineer to the growing team. Applicants with an engineering mindset and capabilities from various backgrounds will be considered, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, controls, military and telco’s. A trade certificate or degree (complete or near completed) will be highly regarded but not a prerequisite as we are willing to spend significant time to train mentor and develop the right candidate.  With a clearly defined and direct career progression path, a willingness to learn and, attain and maintain key information will be highly regarded.   Responsibilities: Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance Shadows senior engineers in preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components Assists with difficult repairs, maintenance, installations and on-site inspections to facility systems. Supports energy efficiency measures Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves basic alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following standard operating procedures. (SOP's) Operates and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems and other critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staff Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments  Vendor Support Supports the work approval process for service providers on moderately difficult maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out. Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's SOPs In cooperation with vendors, supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment ensuring files and builds are up-to-date  Site Administration & Incident Support Performs moderately difficult site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts  Work Orders & Additional Projects Completes routine work requests and circuit installations Makes minor changes to mechanical, electrical and specialized systems, as directed, and builds out knowledge over time  Qualifications and Experience Engineering mindset and technical aptitude to attain and maintain key information Ideally an industry related trade certificate or qualification (but not mandatory) Willingness to learn the Equinix way and be a positive add to our culture Previous work or exposure in electrical/telco/mechanical/hardware environment will be highly regarded Positive outlook towards learning a new industry and ability to work well with customers, vendors and senior colleagues  Benefits of the role Clear and defined career progression pathway within the Facilities team, will limitless opportunities across the business Dedicated onboarding, training and ongoing support in the role to ensure successful applicant's continuous personal and professional development Supporting management and senior engineering team to enable you to develop across all operations Salary including annual bonus and pay review, healthcare allowance!  Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
