Job SummaryReporting to Equinix’s President of the Americas, the Vice President of Corporate Development will oversee Equinix’s AMER Corporate Development Team and is responsible for all deal activities related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate investments and strategic investments. This executive will partner cross-functionally, working with functional leaders, to ensure timely execution of our M&A, real estate investments and capital planning projects.The VP Corporate Development will drive revenue and AFFO growth for the Americas region through: Mergers & acquisitions – establishing and leading strategy and deal execution for the region; Managing the regional capex budget – establishing metro-strategy and optimizing IBX development plans within them; Owning the overall Americas real estate portfolio; and Driving the Americas strategic planning process and related execution of projects that support realizing regional OKRs.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & DevelopmentPartner with EVP, GTM leadership and BU/Functional Leadership Teams & cross functional peers to translate Equinix Enterprise Strategy into a GTM roadmap, set of initiatives/business cases to deliver value for Equinix’s customersEngage with company leaders to obtain buy-in for cross-functional projects, including planned outcomes, strategic narratives and linkages to enterprise strategyCreate storyboards and present to Company leaders on key initiativesAnalyze and provide insights into market extension opportunities (e.g., new services, solutions and business models)Lead the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with key stakeholdersInvestment Management and OptimizationSets direction and strategy for IBX development pipeline, managing and prioritizing regional $1B capex budgetSets metro real estate strategies and optimizes IBX development plans within metrosOversees all regional real estate transactionsUnderwrites and secures management and board approval for capital expansionsRepresents investment proposals to executive managementMergers and AcquisitionsEstablishes and leads M&A strategy for the region.Sources and analyzes accretive acquisition and partnership opportunities for the regionLeads negotiations (with support from legal team) for M&A transactionsRepresents and drives deal approvals at the Senior Exec and Board LevelStrategic Planning and DevelopmentLeads annual strategic planning process in conjunction with Regional and Corp teamsApproves strategy/business case development and sponsors at the Exec LevelLead a diverse team, creating an inclusive cultureShape a collaborative, transparent, and entrepreneurial cultureMotivate employees around shared visionQualificationsSubstantial experience in general management, investment banking, corporate developmentTrack record of M&A and real estate closing experience and business partnership experienceSignificant experience over a broad range of sizes (<$10M and >$500M)Ideally has knowledge of the retail data center business and data center business regionally and globallyProven ability to see the ‘bigger long-term picture’ and think strategically while achieving short-term resultsAbility to determine and present clear strategic direction for inorganic and organic dealsInspirational leader with strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally with diverse business unit leadersDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasivelyAbility to work with senior executives across a matrixed organizationProactive, collaborative, and able to work comfortably in a non-hierarchical contextEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer. • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $231,000 to $402,000 per year
• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $228,000 to $398,000 per year
• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $217,000 to $379,000 per year
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
