This means that we support hospitals, laboratories, and public safety centers. Simply put - We cannot go dark. In this crucial role, a Data Center Technician:Develops job plans for large installation projects using various project management tools.Contributes to vendor review and oversight with management.Provides weekly queue management activity reports and metrics to the supervisor.Supports customer requirements/issues, especially in sensitive situations.Supports internal/external audits, updates databases, and completes reportingSupports sophisticated data center work requiring developing new concepts and techniques for standard operating procedure and independent judgment for installs, troubleshooting, terminations, modifications, and testing.Understands the approval process and identifies timelines for orders that have been expedited or require negotiation.Ensure that a team is a safe place for all team members and escalate where vitalIdentifies cost savings opportunities and process recommendations and shares with leaders.Optimally collaborates within the department; may mentor team members on general maintenance activities.Provides partners with inventory needs to maintain efficient stock levels of critical parts and equipment.Qualifications2-4 years of cabling, fiber optics, and rack and stack experienceHigh School DiplomaA natural curiosity and strong troubleshooting skillsExperience working in a critical facilityYou can lift up to 50 lbs. and are agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, et.) with or without an accommodation.24/7 Operation - Your flexibility to work any assigned shift, off-schedule, fill in for workmates, respond to emergencies, etcEquinix is an equal-opportunity employer.
