It is preferred that the candidate is a resident of Minnesota or Wisconsin. We are looking for dynamic, curious, motivated, and self-starting Senior Solutions/Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for pre-sales technical engagement with the customer, pivoting between credible technical discussion and distilling technical concepts into simple business language reinforcing the Calix value proposition, deliver compelling presentations, and build customer aligned network designs. In this role, you will interact with and influence senior technical staff and business management within Calix’s telecommunications operator customers. You will provide demonstrations of Calix’s product capabilities and assist with lab and field trials. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, experience in a pre-sales position, and confident in both technical and business forums.Qualifications:BSEE/BSCS desired.Travel expectations: Up to 60% domestic travel.Technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architecture.Familiarity with Fiber and Copper based Access systems.Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement in product, education and training, testing methods, and demos.Strong interpersonal skills, a proven track record of synthesizing and interpreting complex issues into solutions and the ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels across organizations.Excellent presentation, written communication, and public speaking skills.Must have a valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:Deep understanding of SaaS and SDN based technologies.Mastery of Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 network architecture and design.Experience implementing multi-service broadband solutions.Working knowledge of network management and orchestration platforms.Strong knowledge of operational and support (BSS/OSS) systems and understanding interactions with APIs (REST/JSON) including design, integration, and troubleshooting considerations.
