The Director of Pricing is responsible for the development and implementation of WPE’s pricing strategies, including pricing analytics, pricing optimization, deal review, and pricing maintenance. This position works with Finance and the senior executive team to establish overall pricing strategy for the business and by BUs. This position requires a strong ability to support the execution of this strategy with key internal business partners (e.g., sales, finance, procurement) to enhance sales, profit, and customer impact. This position leads a dedicated Pricing team to support these responsibilities. Key ResponsibilitiesLead development and maintenance of business-wide and BU-level pricing strategies that lead to maximized sales, profits, channel/customer growth.Develop knowledge of category strategies, client purchase patterns, and key economic levers as inputs into overall pricing strategy.Facilitate and manage content for Pricing team meetings and leadership discussionsDevelop and execute margin guidelines for sales leveraging historical data, competitive benchmarking, and deal economics Manage and execute pricing analytics: price gaps, competitive pricing, promotion ROIsRun extensive analysis around price elasticity, price waterfall, willingness to pay, competitive assessment, and price-volume trade off curvesDevelop, support, communicate pricing reporting for the business and for business leadership (price performance, dashboards, assessment of strategy)Oversee item-level price setting, including independent review of algorithmic price optimization recommendations.Oversee day-to-day pricing activities, including relationship to special costing and rebatesLead strategic and tactical planning process for all business pricing/trade initiatives. Support development of pricing communication to internal audiences, clients, and vendors/suppliersEnsure that pricing strategy is properly considered in product decisions and initiatives, including new product development/pricingDefine and execute electronic tests and controls, measure results, and develop pricing strategy insights and implications.​     ​ Position Requirements ​ This position requires knowledge of B2B pricing and pricing in distribution, as well as strong skills in quantitative methods acquired through formal education and/or on-the-job experience.  Exceptional strategic, analytical, and planning skills are critical to success in this position.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to make recommendations to senior executives and to influence the organization, including sales teams.  Strong teaming and collaboration skills are required to operate effectively across the business.
