Position:Sr./Lead Accountant - Financial Reporting and Technical AccountingOverview:Blue Yonder, Inc, is looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in US GAAP and external reporting to join our External Reporting team. This position will report to the Manager of External Reporting.Location:While Blue Yonder is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, this position is fully remote (or hybrid if located in Scottsdale).Our Current Systems:Workday, Blackline, Microsoft ExcelSummary:The Senior External Reporting Accountant/Lead will be responsible for preparing the monthly and quarterly reporting package, along with performing research and drafting documentation on Company accounting conclusions regarding new transactions and new US GAAP accounting standards that may arise.  They will collaborate with other departments and external auditors to coordinate financial statement audit requests and provide insights on financial information as needed.  They will work with regional accounting teams to analyze, identify, and investigate financial statement variances on a global basis. This role will also support major projects as they relate to accounting.What you will do:Responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting package including external financial statements with GAAP.Research accounting issues as required for new accounting pronouncements and company transactions and draft documentation of accounting conclusions for presentation to senior management.Support teams in the successful implementation of accounting changes due to new US GAAP accounting standards.Support the evaluation of significant differences between US GAAP and IFRSSupport a global dotted-line team of professionals responsible for building, maintaining, and improving accounting reporting by providing guidance and support to regional accounting teams.Participate in month-end close by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including posting journal entries and account reconciliations related to technical accounting processes (Example: Capitalization of internally developed software costs, share-based compensation, etc.)Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve themDevelop tools, guidelines, and training materials consistent with corporate policies and best practices for new accounting policies.Work with other departments to educate team members on process changes and required documentation, as well as reinforce existing procedures for compliance and accuracy.Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners to achieve desired outcomes.Support financial statement audits by acting as a liaison between other finance departments and external auditors.Responsible for analysis of and adherence to system of internal control.Identify accounting process that would benefit from improved automation.Lead or support other corporate projects as they relate to accounting as needed.What we are looking for:2-5+ years of experience in accounting, public accounting experience preferredBachelor’s degree in accountingStrong working knowledge of US GAAPExcellent computer skills, with an emphasis in ExcelOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAble to work independently, in a team setting, and/or collaboratively with other departmentsMotivated to learn new tasksWillingness to support multiple time zones (Blue Yonder is a global organization)CPA license required#LI-Remote*LI-EW1-------------------------------------------The salary range for this position is $77,000 - $111,575The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.  Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.  Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors.  In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.At Blue Yonder, we care about the wellbeing of our employees and those most important to them.
