Blue Yonder Job Title:Associate Technical ConsultantOverview:The Development and Support Services (DSS) team within Blue Yonder develops fit for purpose tools and extensions for our customers that provide increased value on top of our base product solutions.  We are seeking an associate software engineer with strong technical knowledge to assist internal projects to help build technical tools that would assist our internal development needs and processes so we can provide value to our customers faster, easier, and with higher quality.  This position will provide exposure to enterprise solutions and development processes where you will be an extension to a global team.Scope:The scope of work would entail working with existing technical developers and architects on the team that would be available/ responsible for providing requirements and use cases for the internal tools and reusable component development expected to provide the most value.  Independent research, development based on the requirement definition, testing, and documentation of the end solutions will be key elements of this role.  Examples of the scope of work may include a static code analysis tool that validates various development objects against a preset list of rules or development guidelines and development best practices or a tool that helps expedite the ability for the teams to assess the effort and risk to upgrade customer modifications in future releases.What you’ll do: (Responsibilities)Perform development activities such as coding, testing, and documenting user and technical information for the features or tools created.Ensure development meets the requirements and use cases defined with high quality and on-timeProvide status updates and work with the internal development team to identify and mitigate impediments to meet the development delivery plans.Keep all applicable systems and documentation updated per standards on a consistent basis (time entry, JIRA updates, code repositories, feature documentation, etc.)Work hard, learn with experienced developers, and have fun!What we are looking for: (Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or EquivalentKnowledge of MVC Architecture and Oops in designing and developing software applications.Java, MVC Architecture, J2EE, Struts, Portal Server, Web Development ExperienceKnowledge on Design PatternsUnix Knowledge desirableUnderstanding of database conceptsKnowledge in developing multi-threaded applications.Knowledge with REST, JSON & web services.Scrum or Kanban knowledge.
