Finance Manager (Accounting Focus) – Applications BUStatus: Exempt (salaried)                                                                    Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Finance Manager will be the main interface for Plug’s Applications Business Unit (BU) on all accounting matters.  The Finance Manager should be well versed in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The position will play a key role in ensuring the fiscal health of business activities for the Applications BU to ensure the achievement of financial targets and strategic goals. This position will be tasked with maintaining a sound financial reporting control structure through the development of systems and procedures, supporting technical accounting conclusions, and performance of analytics.  There will be significant interaction with external audit, internal audit, corporate controllership, operational finance and business operations across the organization. The ideal candidate for the role is someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles and is able to translate analytical information and communicate at all levels of the organization to help drive decision-making. Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of accounting policies and manuals to create standards for staff to follow, including adoption of new accounting standards for Applications BU.Closely partner with the sales and operations team for Applications BU to provide financial linkage between deals sold and final executional results.Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) including providing guidance to commercial teams & management on accounting treatment.Lead the preparation of financial statement footnotes relating to BU revenue.Act as a key reviewer in the division financial close process for activities related to Applications BU.Assist in the Company’s SOX program, including documentation, testing, performing risk assessments, and making ongoing recommendations for internal control process changes related to Applications BU.Provide support with coordinating the monthly external/internal financial and operational reporting activities.Serve as lead contact with external auditors regarding Applications BU topics.Support the accounting integration of current and future acquisitions for Applications BU.Drive implementation of internal control process and system changes; communicate and train stakeholders internally and be available as an ongoing subject matter expert.Provide insights to senior management around financial modeling, forecasts, and profitability for Applications BU.Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Executive management and department leaders as needed to support the BU.Build and maintain highly effective cross-functional relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication and value-added working relationships.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA requiredSeven (7) years to ten (10) of relevant finance and accounting experience, including:       Minimum three (3) or more years of public accounting experience; Big 4 preferredTwo (2) or more additional years of experience within a manufacturing or construction company preferred  One (1) or more years of supervisory experienceExecutive level presentation skillsDesire to develop others through training, coaching and leading by exampleUncompromising dedication to customer service excellenceDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly ExcelProficiency in navigating ERP systemsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
