Lease Financial Reporting Analyst/Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst (Hybrid/Virtual)Status: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingLocation: This is a hybrid/virtual position, with the expectation of being on-site at our corporate location in Latham, NY at least two to three times a week, or based on needs of the business. Position SummaryThe Lease Financial Reporting Analyst/Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst handles a variety of duties with a primary focus on lease accounting. Core responsibilities include tracking new leases, properly recording them in GL via Lease Query software and excel amortization schedules. This individual will also work closely with finance leaders and the accounts payable department in tracking/reconciling lease payments. They will also assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual footnote disclosures. This role must be occupied by someone who pays attention to details, possesses advanced excel skills and is comfortable with a fast-paced work environment. This role serves a critical function to the accounting team as a subject matter expert and provides specialized knowledge of the accounting, reporting, and compliance obligations related to leases assets for publicly traded companies.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in gathering, analyzing and producing internal/external financial reports to support management and SEC filingsPerform reconciliation of leases to GL on a monthly basis, including recording of the month- end journal entriesIndividual will work closely with finance leaders in understanding the lease agreements and researching appropriate accounting treatmentAssist in the implementation of Lease Query software for Plug’s International companiesThis individual should have strong communication skills and be detail oriented and proactive to accomplish each task in a timely mannerThe individual must possess advanced excel skills to perform majority of the tasks assignedThis individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in order to meet company designated deadlines, as well as being able to work on diverse assignments.Take an active role in the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation and closing activities.Support the preparation of quarterly and annual footnote disclosures filed with the SEC; including Form 10Q and Form 10kPartner with external auditors and be available in support of audit requests as a subject matter expert related to Plug Power’s financial reporting of leasesMaintain current knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting obligations pertaining to leases; make recommendations for process changes as dictated by these obligationsAssist the tax department with lease relates deliverablesWork with Internal Audit and SOX department on assigned projectsRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBS in finance/accounting from accredited university; CPA license preferred.3+ years of related work history, Big 4 Accounting Firm experience highly preferredExperience working in a publicly traded organization or as an audit partner to a publicly traded organization preferredStrong grasp of US GAAP and SEC reporting obligations for public companiesDemonstrated track record of implementing enhanced accounting standards and financial reporting systemsComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, LeaseQuery, Blackline and OutlookStrong verbal and written communication skillsUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedTeamwork oriented and focusedExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.
