Development Technician – TestingStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: Systems EngineeringPosition Summary                                                                                                                       The Development Technician will support with initial troubleshooting of test issues during normal production and assist with roll out and development of new test equipment. This individual will also become knowledgeable of the stack and component build process. The ideal candidate should be able to exercise independent judgment while also approaching problem-solving with a hands-on method. This technician must be able to effectively communicate with the cross-functional engineering teams to ensure proper communication.  The Development Technician should be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, make recommendations and implementPerform tests as needed to demonstrate design performanceConduct hands on component and stack testingAbility to collect data and design experiments based on statisticsConstruct and operate test stations to test mechanical parts such as valves, pumps, fans, etc.Utilize excel to plot and present dataDevelop and write reports based on tests conductedBecome familiar with key stack performance parametersAbility to debug and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to review technical documentation in order to find substitute partsCommunicates with engineering staff to resolve design details and problemsRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in a technical field or military certification is preferredTwo (2) + years of related work history preferably within a technology product manufacturing environmentExperience with fuel cells is a plusExperience with a structured Engineering Change Process and related proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess solid hands on approach to problem-solvingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to exercise independent judgementDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$22.12 - $31.68We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
