Controls EngineerStatus: Exempt (salary)Department: Test EngineeringPosition Summary The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the development of control systems for all test equipment used during the manufacture of fuel cells. This includes all aspects from initial design, all the way through final commissioning. This individual will also work closely with the Operations and Maintenance groups to develop new capability, ensure data reliability, and resolve issues. The Controls Engineer should be creative, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop controls software for fuel cell test standsProvide controls support for validation and runoff of new process equipmentDevelop and execute test equipment acceptance metricsDevelop and validate safety systemsImplement revision control for all application softwareInterface with manufacturing engineering to ensure test equipment reliability, improve processes, and add new capability.Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsSome travel may be requiredPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBS degree in Controls Engineering or related field5 years minimum experience in industrial automation controls and softwareExperience in Labview and SQL databasesExperience with PLC programming languages (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc...)Experience in implementing PID controls, model-based controls, and tuning Familiar with machinery safety (ISO 13849), safety design, and programming safety PLCsFamiliar with change management software such as GitKnowledge of interfacing with various types of sensors and actuatorsKnowledge of fuel cell systems, battery, or other DC power controls is a plusExceptional communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailMust be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
