Sr. Data ScientistStatus: Exempt (salaried) Department: 391-Reliability EngineeringPosition SummaryThe position will focus on analytical diagnostics and predictive maintenance of Plug Power’s rapidly growing fuel cell fleet. This individual should have extensive knowledge in “Big Data” programming languages and methodologies along with SQL database experience. An in depth understanding of data science, software engineering, and high performance cloud computing will be an integral part of this positions success. This person will adhere to best practices, processes and methodologies involved with database development and data analytics. This ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop analytical approach to fuel cell diagnostics and troubleshootingUtilize advanced statistical methods to create high performing predictive modelsUtilize Design of Experiment methodology to establish transfer functionsReport on product and component reliabilityStandardize customer reporting platformsManage and develop analytical modelsIdentify inefficiencies in system design and investigate solutionsDesign and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queriesAnalyzes data and prepares reports as neededRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner in all interactions; support the philosophy of the organization to provide high-performing technology to maximize customer satisfactionPerforms other related duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field of study; master’s degree preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analysisMinimum of five (5) years of experience in statistical analysisHigh SQL proficiencyExperience with BI Tools like Power BI, Tableau, Cognos is desirableExperience with Python or R languages preferredExperience with “Big Data” technologies like Hadoop, MapReduce, SparkExperience with data science platforms such as Alyeryx, Rapidminer, Tibco, JMP is highly preferredDesire to learn new toolsets, understanding of relational databases/modelsAbility to identify useful information in data sets and suggest conclusions that support decision makingComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.Uncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyAbility to role model high standards of professionalismExcellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivatedPay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
