As a Quality Technician at Plug, you will have an opportunity to help our clients reduce their environmental footprint on the planet. You will be responsible for providing support for Tier 1 supplier/manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen dispensing units, and hydrogen storage, compression, and flow systems. The position is vital to drive product quality improvements by raising awareness to enhancement opportunities within manufacturing systems and procedures. In this role, you will drive to minimize the overall manufacturing cycle time for Plug’s products while ensuring the highest quality of produced goods.Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections as required to accept, verify and validate products, assemblies and components to relevant requirements.Make decisions regarding product acceptance per product documentation and company workmanship criteria.Document inspection and Supplier Quality activities, report data, results and conclusions as necessary.Read, interpret, and utilize Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, standards, specifications and other documentation.Review Supplier First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAPs, data and forms to ensure compliance with requirements.Support the preparation of operational Supplier Quality and Inspection procedures and instructions in accordance with company, ISO 9001, 2015/IATF 16949 requirements.Perform dimensional inspections, capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, and audits as needed to support Supplier Quality initiatives, concerns and development activities.Participate in Supplier Quality corrective action teams to identify the root cause of a problem and implement effective corrective actions and validate results.Perform analysis of relevant Supplier Quality data and report as necessary.Maintain transactions and coordinate activities related to RMA, SDR, SCAR, DMR, IRCA, CAPA, ECR, inspection and nonconforming processes.Participate in quality improvement projects for products and processes.Education and ExperienceAssociate’s degree from an accredited university or college in a technical field or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment preferred.Knowledge of blueprint reading/Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).Ability to use standard hand gages such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, dial gages, etc.2 years’ experience performing open plate inspection, CMM / OIS programming a plusFamiliarity with a variety of manufacturing processes preferred.Capable of performing gage R&R and other studies.Basic AIAG and related quality system knowledge of ISO 9001, 2015/IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 strongly desired.Understanding of 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) and lean six sigma preferred.Able to maintain confidentiality on products, services, and processes.Familiarity with AS9102, First Article Inspection & Final Inspection and automotive industry PPAP processes.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Accuracy and attention to detail is highly important.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Effective problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.Computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.Ability to use statistical software preferred (Jump, Minitab…).ASQ CQI, CQT certification preferred.Pay Rate:$20.07 - $26.90We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
