Home office Plug HQ, Latham NYIT/COMPUTER SCIENCE Education or formal training requiredStatus: Exempt (Salaried) Department: Internal AuditPosition SummaryThe IT (Information Technology) Sr Auditor is responsible for all IT related projects, maintaining an IT audit framework within the Internal Audit Department and assisting in the development of a risk-based internal audit plan. The IT Auditor would also support the audit team and other functional areas by providing IT advice, technical guidance, and direction on IT internal controls over business processes and computer systems and on the design of controls for new or changes to existing systems. The IT Auditor would also oversee the work of other auditors assisting in the execution of IT testing and provide guidance as necessary.Flourishing in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and project management skills along with a strong background in internal audit and/or business and IT processes. If you are self-motivated and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced global environment, this will be an exciting career opportunity for you to join an organization that is building sustainable new technologies for a better future.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and maintain an IT audit framework.Participate in the annual risk assessment and audit planning process to assess IT risks and their potential impact on achieving the company’s strategic and business objectives.Develop IT audit scopes, objectives and audit programs for IT specific audits identified on the Audit Plan.Review, evaluate and test Information Technology General Controls (ITGC’s) to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.Consult and provide improvement recommendations over company policies and procedures to enhance IT control measures and efficiencies.Document and report out on all information pertaining to IT audit results including risks, findings, observations, and recommendations for strengthening internal controls and process improvement.Follow up with management on remedial action for any identified areas of IT risk.Evaluate and test end user computing controls over tools such as excel spreadsheets and access databases.Produce audit exception reporting, as well as develop, implement and maintain computer assisted auditing tools to be used by the audit department (i.e. ACL, AuditBoard dashboards, etc.).Provide year-end audit assistance to the external auditors related to ITGC’s, as necessary.Prepare Audit and Executive Summary reports to be included with Audit Committee meeting materials.Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as ability to use appropriate judgment and discretion.Ability to stay current with industry practices and effectively share knowledge with team members.Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.Ability to communicate effectively across various cross-functional departments including but not limited to IT, Finance, HR.Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week. Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceApplicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or computer science with an IT focus, and the following minimum relevant experience in IT auditing and/or private industry experience with knowledge of IT internal control compliance for each level:Auditor: 3+ yearsSr Auditor: 5+ yearsPrior industry and IT SOX experience strongly preferredExperience with various IT frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, NIST), internal auditing standards, COSO and risk assessment practices is strongly preferred.Possession of a certified information system auditor (CISA) or certified internal auditor (CIA) designation preferred but not required.Understanding of the technical aspects of accounting, financial and IT reporting.Experience in performing multiple projects and working with varying team members.The ability to work independently in the face of complex assignments.Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Uncompromising dedication to quality.Excellent follow-through.
