Waste Technician - 2nd shift

Waste TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Department: FacilitiesShift: 2nd shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PMPosition SummaryThe primary objective for the Waste Technician is to support the manufacturing operation.  This person will focus on recycling packaging materials removed from new stock.  All waste materials will be removed from production floor and recycled or disposed of in proper manner. This person will also keep the recycle/waste handling equipment inside and outside neat and orderly at all times.  Finally, as a member of the Facilities Team, they will be asked to complete general maintenance tasks as required to maintain the buildings and grounds.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork as a member of the Facilities Team to complete specific assigned projects.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Routinely empty recycle cardboard and trash carts from production floor.Operate cardboard bailing machine and deliver full bails to recycle pad.Interact with vendors to arrange timely collection of recyclables and waste.Monitor outside grounds and collect trash around lots, roads, and grounds.Work with facilities tam on special occasion setup and takedownAssist facilities techs as needed in day-to-day work activities.Keep recycle and waste collection pickup logs to maintain billing accuracy.Participate in safety reviews and support all EH&S policies and directives.Participate in production efforts to improve efficiency.Ability to stand for long periods of time in performance of job functions.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMechanical aptitude and ability to interact with people at all levels.Ability to learn and use workorder reporting system.Well organized, team-player who will take a “hands-on” approach to solve problems.Pay Rate:$15.54 - $20.56We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
