Sr. Tax AnalystHybrid Role - home base is Plug HQ, Latham NY*Ideal candidates will have experience with income, sales and property taxes*Status: Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Senior Tax Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting the tax compliance and tax accounting process. This individual is expected to work independently and be able to recognize tax issues and recommend solutions. Additionally, they must possess strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. The position reports to the Director of Tax.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparation of annual property tax renditions, including review of assessment notices and bills to ensure timely filing and paymentProvide sales and use and property tax support to various departments (Accounts Receivable/Payable, Finance, and Procurement), including exemption determination and form completionResearch property and sales tax matters, summarize research and determine proper tax treatment for specific business transactionsReview various notices related to property, sales and use, and income tax; including contacting tax authorities and outside consultants (if necessary) to resolveProvide property, sales and use, and income tax audit support; including interaction with external state and federal tax agencies to ensure audit timelines and requests are metAssist with income tax matters including compiling data and information needed for completion of annual corporate federal and state income/franchise tax compliance (extensions, estimates, returns)In addition to property, sales and use, and income tax support assist with ad-hoc matters related to other tax types including gross receipts, fuel, withholding and exciseAssist with gathering data and information needed to support tax impact from mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing and other international tax issues (VAT, GST/HST)As requested, provided assistance related to quarterly and year-end income tax provision reporting in the audited financial statements (Forms 10Q and 10K)Assist with reviewing applicability of various state and federal tax credits/incentives and determining financial impactProviding support and insight to optimize tax compliance processes via excel or other technologies Education and ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in AccountingThree to Six plus years relevant experience tax experience.Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentExceptional data analysis and presentation skillsAbility to think logical and critically to measure the pros and cons and take the most appropriate decisions from the available resourcesAbility to work effectively in both a self-directed and team environmentAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlinesDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiencesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office softwareMust be highly driven and motivated to achieve goalsPay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
