Electrical TechnicianStatus: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Department: Plug CryoPosition Summary:The Electrical Technician will install and wire sensors, actuators and motors on mobile equipment for the storage and distribution of cryogenic fluids. The ideal candidate should be able to exercise independent judgment while also approaching problem-solving with a hands-on method. This individual must be able to effectively communicate with the cross-functional engineering teams to ensure proper communication. The Electrical Technician should be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Utilize piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical wiring diagrams for installation of sensors, actuators, 3PH motors, 3PH heaters, etc…considering make recommendations.Understand functionality of electrical components mentioned above.Installation of explosion proof devices.Operationalize, troubleshoot, and commission the equipment installed before sending equipment to test line.Documenting information about calibration certificates provided by manufacturer.Perform tests as needed to demonstrate functionality of components installed.Always follow safety protocols and propose improvements to procedures, as necessary.Develop and write reports based on quality control requirements.Communicate with engineering staff to resolve design details and problems.Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.Perform all other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceAssociates degree in a technical field, military certificationRelated work history preferably within a technology product manufacturing environment.Experience in wiring DC and AC circuits.Ability to read wiring diagrams.Ability to debug and troubleshoot electric circuits systems.Experience in soldering and pinning connectors.Experience installing EYS fittings, EXP glands, EXP enclosures, EXP sensors and EXP actuators.Mechanical experience with installing instrumentation and control elements (thermocouples, pressure transducers, control valves, etc).Able to read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow diagrams (PFDs).Ability to review technical documentation and find substitute parts as necessary.Ability to operate under own initiative, to improve projects without implicit instructions when situation(s) encountered.Experience with a structured Engineering Change Process and related procedures.Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving.Ability to exercise independent judgement.Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.Excellent follow-through.Must be driven and self-motivated.Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.Experience with electronic boards and components.Experience calibrating sensorsPay Rate:$22.12 - $31.68We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
