Job Requisition ID #23WD70650Position OverviewAs a Machine Learning Engineer at Autodesk Research, you will be working side-by-side with world-class researchers and engineers doing fundamental and applied research that will help our customers imagine, design, and make a better world.You are a software engineer who is passionate about solving problems and building things. You are excited to collaborate with our Research Scientists to perform experiments and implement state-of-the-art generative AI algorithms. You are a good communicator, comfortable serving as a translator and straddling the gap between research & development.The location of this role is flexible. We are a global team, located in London, San Francisco, Toronto, and remotely. Autodesk is a flexible hybrid-first company, allowing workers to work remotely, in an office, or a mix of both. ResponsibilitiesScaling techniques for large model trainingUnderstand and prototype ideas from research papersCollaborate on research projects & papers with a diverse, global team of Researchers & EngineersSupport research through building of experimental pipelines, prototypes, and reusable codeImplement scalable machine learning training pipelinesData processing & feature extractionModel training & hyperparameter tuningError analysis & troubleshootingMinimum QualificationsBSc or MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience1+ years of experience with deep learning and generative modelsExperience with version controlling, reproducibility, and deploying machine learning modelsStrong data modelling and data architecture skillsExperience with cloud services & architectures (AWS, Azure, etc.)Proficiency with modern deep learning libraries and frameworksProficiency in coordinating, provisioning, and maintaining systems and compute infrastructurePreferred QualificationsExperience with sync/async distributed methods for data/model parallelismExperience scaling ML training pipelinesExperience working in large distributed systemsExperience or interest in computational geometry and geometric methodsMulti-modal deep learning and/or information retrievalKnowledge of the design, manufacturing, AEC, or media & entertainment industriesExperience with Autodesk or similar products (CAD, CAE, CAM, etc.)The Ideal CandidateA Software Engineer with experience building and training robust machine learning systemsFamiliar with implementing experimental pipelines and prototyping AI applicationsComfortable building prototypes from scratch and writing maintainable code within existing codebasesA curious, creative problem-solver who is excited to learn & develop new technologiesA fast learner & excellent communicator who can effectively collaborate across global locations#LI-JK1Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $114,800 and $198,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
