Job Requisition ID #23WD71163Position OverviewOur Product Development Manufacturing Solutions team is looking for a Experience Design Architect who is an innovative futurist, supportive mentor, creative thinker and problem-solver. Our Experience Architects use creative problem-solving skills to influence the team to think beyond the expected and ship high-quality experiences our customers will love.The Experience Architect will work on experience visions and strategic frameworks, systems, and models to create cohesive and scalable customer experiences for Fusion 360, our design and manufacturing platform. The role requires a strategic mindset and ability to collaborate with and influence product teams.Preference for candidates able to work hybrid/remote from our Toronto, Canada office.**When applying, please include both your resume and portfolio with password if applicable**ResponsibilitiesDrive. Participate in defining and driving Product Design & Manufacturing strategic direction from a user experience perspective. Serve as both an information resource to executive management regarding existing user experience and as a design visionary, providing executive management with a grasp of future possibilities.Visionary.  Create and communicate a user experience vision that describes specific long-term goals for the user experience, including conceptual models and metaphors, interaction techniques, interoperability with other company products and visual design directions. Create prototypes to test and communicate the vision. Create and effectively present to the product and executive leadership.Ensure Execution.  Work with user experience designers to ensure the implementation of the user experience vision. Facilitate brainstorming sessions, attend design reviews and work with the application during development, in order to provide feedback on usability, internal consistency, consistency with UI guidelines and consistency with the user experience roadmap.Focus on the Customer.  Maintain active contact with users through field research, interviews and user conferences. May participate in and lead user research, facilitating data analysis and guiding its translation into the design of new products and upcoming releases. May present research findings and results to product teams and leadership.Leadership.  Act as a leader in the Autodesk design community; evangelizing, communicating, and distributing design information. Maintain relationships with other product groups to ensure common strategy for the company and coordination of efforts. Maintain relationships with user experience architects across the company and work with them to develop long-term strategic design directions for the Company.Innovate.  Research user interface trends and the potential impact of new technologies on the user experience. Maintain familiarity with design directions and innovations in competing products. Track product design developments across the company through regular contact with design teams for other product lines.Minimum Qualifications8+ years’ experience in user experience design or related fieldExperienced applying user-centered design practicesExperience advocating and articulating a design vision that aligns to customer and business prioritiesExperience creating high-level user experience flows as well as design conceptsExperience presenting design goals, process, and vision to executive stakeholdersAbility to work in agile and fast-moving design environmentStrong written, presentation and verbal communication skills.  Must have the professional polish and poise to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (customers, staff, peers and senior management)Excellent facilitation, negotiation and consensus building abilitiesAbility to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.  May supervise the activities of others.Experience in creating influential relationships within and across product groupsPreferred QualificationsBachelors or equivalent work experience; Masters preferredExperience implementing personalized and dynamic user experiencesExperience in the fields of Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Electrical EngineeringExperience using Fusion 360; Mastercam; Solidworks; etc.Learn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
