The Content Experience Designer at Autodesk is responsible for crafting engaging content for both our customers, our internal development teams, and effective product experiences that promote customer knowledge and skill development, as well as worldwide product adoption and retention. Content may include, but is not limited to, internal development-facing documentation, customer-facing online help, in-product learning, user interface content, and product messaging.
For this role, we are looking for someone with a strong API documentation skillset in their content design portfolio. We need someone who can write customer facing content, as well as content to help our internal development teams adopt new technology. This role will work in a dedicated scrum team with software developers, QAs, architects, product owners, and designers.
Responsibilities
Understand the technical aspects of the software they are documenting and assist in translating this into consumable artifacts to help both internal and external teams learn how to adopt the new technology.Write and organize content that helps describe and explain this new technology.Write and organize content that provides connections between the high-level descriptions of the technology and the very technical low-level documentation of itApply their content design skills to organizing and presenting existing content created by software engineers, architects, and product managersCreate internal or external customer-facing content for the softwareParticipate in user research to test and iterate on content solutions to support data-driven design and evolutionWork closely with stakeholders to understand key requirements. Stay informed o project changes, gather information for estimating content development efforts, and update mediums as neededContribute to technical reviews of contentProvide feedback and support for internal teams across disciplines to improve consistency and accuracy through all product-related contentWork collaboratively with agile teams to provide learnability reviews and content to support new features and workflowsCollaborate with internal teams across disciplines on content planning and content strategy for learning sites and associated channels to align with business goalsParticipate in a community of practice for content design
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent4+ years professional working experience in software documentationFamiliarity with web programming languages such as JavaScript, Typescript, Java, and PythonSolid knowledge and experience with Agile development processes and methodologies, such as Scrum, KanbanSuccessfully completed two or more commercial software development cyclesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
