The Infinera Corporate office currently seeks a Customer Demo Lab Manager for our Customer Service and Technical Services Department. This is an extremely important role for Infinera as this is likely the 1st experience from potential customers to the Infinera equipment. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, presentation and pre-sales technical skills to successfully complete lab trials for Infinera Customers. The ability to adapt to a dynamic test environment is required. The candidate must also have the ability to put on multiple hats from doing demos and trials to Program Management and ultimately responsible for helping on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budget for global CDL. Below is a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.Essential Job Functions:Execute customer testing as required in CDLWork with Account Team to review and negotiate test bedManage contractor partners to set up / augment lab as requireExecute trials with customersManages day to day operation of the CDL area. This includes:Enforce lab process and proceduresMaintain a professional looking labApprove access to CDL as requiredPurchasing supplies as needed to ensure successful trialsProgram Management CDL with the Trial team and approve CDL trials as requiredAttend weekly meetings to plan, setup and execute trialsWork with cross-functional team to mitigate trial gaps i.e. equipment availability, scheduling and resourcesResponsible for helping planning the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for global CSTS lab and equipment requirementsResponsible for attending Roadmap review and budget into AOP for Infinera equipment and test validation resourcesJob Requirements:Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on verbal/written communication including the ability to present is a mustMust have strong leadership skills and be able to remain calm and focused in stressful situations. This includes the ability to maintain order and a methodical troubleshooting approach that is focused on successful lab trial. It also requires cross-organizational leadership skills that will build healthy relationship and obtain required support through professional and productive methods4-5 years proven lab trial experience/ability with direct customer interaction in a technical environment—preferably including Sales Engineering experienceNetwork experience in a centralized repair/troubleshooting/testing environment that includes SONET, SDH, DWDM, OTN, TCP/IP, and routing / switchingAbility to multi-task and manage multiple issues, projects, and/or duties simultaneouslyMust be willing to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability, quick learning and excellent problem solving skillsMust be able to manage heavy workloads and high levels of activity and challengesAssertively drive issues to resolution in a timely, yet professional manner with both internal and external partnersMust have mature judgment and the ability to relate well with othersTravel could be required.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (BSEE/BSCS). Advanced Degree a plus or equivalent work experience.Certification (current or past) in areas of expertise such as CCNA/CCIE, Juniper, Voice, Optical and other fields is a plus.Experience in leading cross functional teams and projects are required.The physical demands described here are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
