General Purpose Infinera is looking for a Software Engineer who is open to the challenge of building a new software platform.Deployed in computing platforms, ranging from large datacenters to systems with very limited computing power, the product is being developed with a horizontally scalable, event driven, Micro[1]Service architecture.The ideal candidate is passioned for Cloud Architecture, Open-Source Software, Internet of Things and is ready to incorporate those into a recently started product.Responsibility Area:The candidate shall be responsible for the development of one or more Micro Service components or integration of opensource software that fit product functionalities.Infinera believes that everyone shall contribute to ensure the best result. The ideal candidate, besides actively participating in the complete development cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and test of features shall want to take an active word in team decisions and contribute to the continuously improve our architecture, methods, and software.Position Description (Software Engineer): The job requires a broad knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns and ability to autonomously work, executing all the software engineering tasks required to convert requirements into ready-to-deploy functions. Besides his own coding the candidate will also collaborate in cross-teams code review/pull requests, pair programming, and propose enhancements always considering the cost/benefit relation.Position Requirements:MSc / BS degrees in Computer Science or related fieldsExperience and knowledge of Object Oriented concepts, data structures and multi-threadingDatabase conceptsOpenness to new environment, people, and cultureBonus Points Experience in REST and Event Driven Architecture (e.g. Kafka, NATs)Experience in Cloud oriented server Languages (e.g., Go-Lang, Java, Python)Experience with NO-SQL (e.g., MongoDB)Experience with Container based architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with Cloud Deployments (e.g., AWS, Google, Azure)Experience with Network Technologies (e.g., Ethernet, IP, DWDMInfinera is an equal opportunity employer.
