Non-CA Pay Range (Annual):$79,400.00 - $147,400.00At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.Infinera also offers paid leave, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), life, and disability insurance and toeligible employees.Senior Optical Engineer SubseaLocation: Annapolis Junction,MDThe optical development engineer works in a highly focused and cross functional small team that shapes Infinera’s subsea solution consisting of WDM subsea line terminal, specific interface variants from our compact modular and switching portfolio, subsea specific product extensions and management & control systems. He/she develops upcoming solution functionality as well as lab and trial capabilities.Delivers contributions to lab and trial setups and product implementations for Subsea specific product extensions.Manages extensive subsea lab: keep setups running, increase, enhance, improve lab automation, program setups, create basis for experiments and verification testsRun verifications tests for product release verification and to test new product approaches for validityRequirements and EducationPhD + 0-1 year of experience, or MS with 0-1 year of experienceSW development skills. Experience in developing SW for lab automation SW, trials or product implementationLab experienceKnowledge of transoceanic subsea systems, including wet-plants, SLTE, optical branching units, and combined subsea + terrestrial systems is preferred. knowledge of nonlinear fiber optics and coherent DSP algorithms is desiredKnowledge of festoon links is desired.Ability to work independently and self-driven within a highly skilled and cross functional and still small team where the contributions of an individual matter and make a difference.Able to find creative solutions to technically challenging problems and implement until finished, working and possible to deliver to customer.Willingness to travel.Experience in customer interaction and understanding of customer networks, needs and wants is a plus.#LI-JP1Infinera is an equal opportunity employer.
