Become a member of our our collaborative and supportive work environment and help us drive innovation!Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? As a Senior Project Manager, you will use your experience in technical project management and customer facing positions to plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion in both a local and virtual environment.You will work directly with resource managers, technical staff and business subject matter experts to orchestrate project delivery to ensure projects are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall project plan, driving customer outcomes, and customer satisfaction. This will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.Within 30 days of employment, you will successfully develop and maintain project plans including charter, scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, budget, task dependencies, schedule, open issues, risk assessment, management and mitigation plans across multiple work streams.Within 60 days of employment, you will develop change management skills as you work to quickly define and manage overall project risks and take corrective action in a proactive manner to mitigate risks and prevent issues.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, budget, progress to date, risks etc. - to relevant stakeholdersFollow VMware’s project management methodology and ensure that projects adhere to the defined methodology and stage gate processEngage with Sales and Account teams to identify/drive account growth opportunitiesDrive continuous improvement of project processes – methodology, templates, best practices etc. based on lessons learned from projects Collaborate proactively with the SOLA Team to position our PMO value on current and new engagementDirect and monitor work efforts on a daily basis, identify resource needs, perform quality review and escalate functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately Travel – 50% or more may be requiredFluent Dutch and English language are mandatoryWhat is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The hiring manager for this role is Yu Lu, Senior Manager, PS Delivery Benelux. His expertise has been built from the frontlines with roles in technical solutions consultancy, program management and most recently in management of the delivery team for the past 8 years. Yu Lu’s management philosophy is about encouraging everyone on the team to be independent thinkers and not feel like he is looking over their shoulder. Yu Lu looks for people who can think out-of-the-box and then execute on a good idea. Innovation = Creativity and Execution.The core team is made up of four project/program managers, three lead architects and close partnership with NEMEA delivery team. The team works flexible hours, arranging schedules to fit their needs. Where is this role located?Flexible: The location of this role is flexible within Benelux - Netherlands (Amsterdam office) as first choice or Belgium .
