Search JobsJob DescriptionDuties: Design and build intuitive and meaningful products and features for VMware’s cloud computing space, including cloud & edge infrastructure, cloud management, and cloud security & networking, such as VMware’s vSphere for cloud computing virtualization platform, vSAN for a seamless path to hybrid cloud, VMware Cloud Service, Tanzu, VMware NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation, and vRealize Suite. Work on large scope product feature designs and understand the latest architecture, technology, solution, market trends and competitive offerings related to cloud computing. Collaborate with the design team as well as the product management and engineering teams to identify product vision and goals. Partner with user experience researchers to talk directly with customers to understand their needs, goals, and motivations. Conceptualize and define end-to-end design strategies that support customer needs and business goals. Ideate detailed stories and user flows illustrating the solution. Closely collaborate with a geographically diverse design team to co-design while ensuring consistency across the suite of products and services. Advocate user needs throughout the development lifecycle in an agile, iterative environment to ensure problem and solution fit. Verify and improve on designs through reviews, validations and formal usability testing with end users. Define end-to-end workflows and analyze user flows. Communicate simple user stories illustrating solutions. Create realistic, animated prototypes for designs. Work in a growing agile environment, constantly iterate on work and work through slower and faster cycles of delivery for new products and features.Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Design, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information System, Information Technology or a related technical/quantitative field and one (1) year of experience in job offered or any occupation in which the required experience was gained.Employer requires at least five (5) of the following skills gained through industry experience:Designing, using and managing pattern libraries to establish interaction design patterns, organize complex data, manage information hierarchy and build user flows;Agile and waterfall development processes;Working with customers' needs and pain points via personas, disability-related counterparts and interactions with proxy/end users;Qualitative and quantitative user research using methods such as moderated remote usability studies, click stream analysis, user walkthroughs, or A/B testing;Developing and investigating end-to-end journeys and experiences from a user perspective translating them into actionable recommendations to drive product strategy;Translating complex service architecture data into easy-to-consume information for stakeholders;Applying responsive design and accessibility design and utilizing design system.*Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S. Multiple openings.  Ref # R2307102.For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $184,662- $245,000.  The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position.
